Transitioning to vegetarian and then vegan for us was a process. There was a lot of trial and error and some not-so-great recipes along the way (sorry to my family!). I wish that I had had a tour guide to show me the ropes and help me grocery shop and meal plan to simplify the process for me and my family.

Fast forward to now, with a young family we love preparing food with our kids and then watching them enjoy such nutrient-dense, healthy food. We focus on how we can best fuel our body while making it taste great! And now, I'm sharing it all with you in this guide!

I grew up eating a traditional American diet with an emphasis on minimally processed foods. We had mostly homemade meals, but we didn’t have the foundation of food education back then.

As an adult, I found myself feeling under-nourished, a dip in energy after meals, and craving more of the good stuff--the plants! Soon, my husband and I grew our own garden in the backyard and I was hooked with trying new recipes to incorporate our modest harvests. 

It felt so right to integrate plants directly into our foods. We started on a journey to improve our food intake and watched to see if it improved our health - it totally did! Soon after, we learned more about animal production in our country and the environmental impact - yikes!

 Needless to say, we continue to feel more and more excited about the way that we eat because we not only feel AMAZING, have had many symptoms clear up, have more energy, and now also feel like our food is aligned with our values.
